Weddings Galore!

So on Aug. 15th, one of my really good friends from high school, Laura Packard, got married. I was a bridesmaid along with my friend Sindhu from high school.

The morning started at a lovely 5 in the morning to deliver papers. After that, I came home, took a shower and got started on my hair! I finished just as Sindhu arrived at 7:30. As I was finishing up, I realized that the hairspray can was getting a little low, so with no makeup on, hair done fancy, and dressed in scrubs, I drove to WINCO with Sindhu to grab some hairspray and a lime and bananas. ( I needed the last two for recipes I was entering in the fair!) :) It was fun!

After getting home, I started on Sindhu's hair! She has soooo much of it, it takes me about 45 minutes to curl it and about 10 to actually put it up!! LOL Then I started on makeup. I finished everything up on the both of us around 10:40, so we were frantically getting everything gathered and taking a few pics before we headed to the temple!

Just finished getting ready!

White chocolate and dark chocolate kisses! ;)

Outside

It was really fun, but it was extremely hot that day, 102, and it was torture to take pictures outside! I can only imagine how laura and all the guys in suits felt!! After meeting at the Columbia River Temple at 11:00 to get some group pictures after the wedding, we headed over to the church for a wonderfully delicious luncheon and crazy good chocolate cake!!

At 3:00 I met Ian and Sara (violin player and friend from EWU) in the chruch parking lot to head over to Sierra's house (friend from EWU) to rehearse for her wedding the next day. The three of us were playing for her during the marriage ceremony in a trio. Luckily I changed, because it was intensely hot and the dress would have been drenched for the rest of the day. Sierra's home was gorgeous, but a little out of the way! :) She lives in the farthest part of West Richland, about 45 mins away! I had to be back at Laura's reception at 5:00 for pictures, and we ended up leaving Sierra's at 4:20! And of course, got stuck behind a slow person on a 2 lane, no passing road! ;) Oh well it all worked out, we ended up pulling in to the church parking lot as Laura was walking in, so no worries!

Her pesky brothers!

Laura's reception was very pretty. Her colors were blue and white. I loved her bouquet, which she made herself! They had great cake, punch, fresh fruit, chicken skewers, meatballs, and little quiche with ham and spinach in them! Sindhu, Christine (bridesmaid), and I entertained each other during the reception and had a great time being goofy and getting food for Laura and Jeremy as they stood in the line! :)

Will you accept?

She is playing hard to get!

The couple quietly left around 7:45 after their first dance and daddy-daughter dance. Sindhu and I both gave Laura a hug and said goodbye to Laura for what will be a long time. They drove to Portland and stayed the night to catch a flight to an undisclosed destination. I received a text the next day from an extremely excited Laura who was in Hawaii! They stayed for a week, came home, packed, and drove to BYU Provo to continue going to school! Congrats guys!!

The beautiful couple!

The next day, Aug. 16th, Ian, Sara, and I headed out to Sierra's home to play at 4:30. It was another 100+ day! Luckily for us, we were under a nicely shaded patio, but the poor guests and bride and groom were standing in the scorching sun! We played great and everything went off without a hitch. But everyone was quite glad to get out of the sun and start dinner! :) She decorated her backyard beautifully(pink, brown, and gold) and had amazing food! Strawberry punch, fresh fruit, barbecued chicken, rolls, and cake were served! I must have had 3 servings of the rolls and chicken! DELICIOUS!! We stuck around for the first dance then went home around 8. On the way home we were all tired, just sitting quietly listening to music when Ian goes, "Crap!". At first I thought that something was wrong with the car or something, but then I saw the flashing lights, and Ian realized he had been going 48 in a 35. WHOOPS! I can't blame him though, its a way out there country road with no one on it! I would have been speeding too! The best part was, the bride and groom passed us and the cop in their decorated"Just Married" suburban as they were heading on their honeymoon! :) Congrats GUYS!! They will be back at EWU in the fall. I am looking forward to still being able to see the happy couple!

On the way there!
