Weddings Galore!

So on Aug. 15th, one of my really good friends from high school, Laura Packard, got married. I was a bridesmaid along with my friend Sindhu from high school.

The morning started at a lovely 5 in the morning to deliver papers. After that, I came home, took a shower and got started on my hair! I finished just as Sindhu arrived at 7:30. As I was finishing up, I realized that the hairspray can was getting a little low, so with no makeup on, hair done fancy, and dressed in scrubs, I drove to WINCO with Sindhu to grab some hairspray and a lime and bananas. ( I needed the last two for recipes I was entering in the fair!) :) It was fun!

After getting home, I started on Sindhu's hair! She has soooo much of it, it takes me about 45 minutes to curl it and about 10 to actually put it up!! LOL Then I started on makeup. I finished everything up on the both of us around 10:40, so we were frantically getting everything gathered and taking a few pics before we headed to the temple!

Just finished getting ready!

White chocolate and dark chocolate kisses! ;)

Outside

It was really fun, but it was extremely hot that day, 102, and it was torture to take pictures outside! I can only imagine how laura and all the guys in suits felt!! After meeting at the Columbia River Temple at 11:00 to get some group pictures after the wedding, we headed over to the church for a wonderfully delicious luncheon and crazy good chocolate cake!!

At 3:00 I met Ian and Sara (violin player and friend from EWU) in the chruch parking lot to head over to Sierra's house (friend from EWU) to rehearse for her wedding the next day. The three of us were playing for her during the marriage ceremony in a trio. Luckily I changed, because it was intensely hot and the dress would have been drenched for the rest of the day. Sierra's home was gorgeous, but a little out of the way! :) She lives in the farthest part of West Richland, about 45 mins away! I had to be back at Laura's reception at 5:00 for pictures, and we ended up leaving Sierra's at 4:20! And of course, got stuck behind a slow person on a 2 lane, no passing road! ;) Oh well it all worked out, we ended up pulling in to the church parking lot as Laura was walking in, so no worries!

Her pesky brothers!

Laura's reception was very pretty. Her colors were blue and white. I loved her bouquet, which she made herself! They had great cake, punch, fresh fruit, chicken skewers, meatballs, and little quiche with ham and spinach in them! Sindhu, Christine (bridesmaid), and I entertained each other during the reception and had a great time being goofy and getting food for Laura and Jeremy as they stood in the line! :)

Will you accept?

She is playing hard to get!

The couple quietly left around 7:45 after their first dance and daddy-daughter dance. Sindhu and I both gave Laura a hug and said goodbye to Laura for what will be a long time. They drove to Portland and stayed the night to catch a flight to an undisclosed destination. I received a text the next day from an extremely excited Laura who was in Hawaii! They stayed for a week, came home, packed, and drove to BYU Provo to continue going to school! Congrats guys!!

Their first dance!

The beautiful couple!

The next day, Aug. 16th, Ian, Sara, and I headed out to Sierra's home to play at 4:30. It was another 100+ day! Luckily for us, we were under a nicely shaded patio, but the poor guests and bride and groom were standing in the scorching sun! We played great and everything went off without a hitch. But everyone was quite glad to get out of the sun and start dinner! :) She decorated her backyard beautifully(pink, brown, and gold) and had amazing food! Strawberry punch, fresh fruit, barbecued chicken, rolls, and cake were served! I must have had 3 servings of the rolls and chicken! DELICIOUS!! We stuck around for the first dance then went home around 8. On the way home we were all tired, just sitting quietly listening to music when Ian goes, "Crap!". At first I thought that something was wrong with the car or something, but then I saw the flashing lights, and Ian realized he had been going 48 in a 35. WHOOPS! I can't blame him though, its a way out there country road with no one on it! I would have been speeding too! The best part was, the bride and groom passed us and the cop in their decorated"Just Married" suburban as they were heading on their honeymoon! :) Congrats GUYS!! They will be back at EWU in the fall. I am looking forward to still being able to see the happy couple!

On the way there!

It was a crazzzzy wedding weekend, but I had a blast and enjoyed seeing the couples finally celebrate their LOVE!! oHHHH ;)

End of my freshman year!!

According to Brandi and Megan, my blog is RIDICULOSY outdated, so I have finally posted!!! Have fun, it's going to be a long one!

Well it has finally come, I finished up my first year of college. The year was a blast! Overall no big disastrous or failing classes. : 0) I ended up with a 3.9 overall for my spring quarter, so I was able to bring my cum up to 3.75 for my freshman year! I was glad to get it up! Cari and I had an amazing time living together our last quarter of our freshman year! She is amazing and one of the most hilarious people I know! Since I had such a disastrous roommate for my first two quarters of the year, I have decided to get a single next year. I will be living in one the nicest dorms on campus and am excited to have an opportunity to live alone, but still be in the same dorm of a lot of my friends.

Here are some pics of Cari moving in. I know it was about 3 months ago, but i figured I would post them anyway!

FINALLY!!! A clean side of the room!!!

Cari's Mass amount of beauty products!! :)

Have you seen the commercial for this?? It really works!

An odd angle of all of our junk on our desks!

That night was pretty entertaining! Austin wasn't his normal self due to some drug use, but he was quite hilarious!! Cari lived on the 8th floor and I lived on the first so we had to take the elevator several times to get all of her stuff moved in. On one of the trips down, we got into the elevator. I was carrying a bag and Austin was carrying a printer. A girl on one of the lower floors got on and saw that Austin was carrying a printer. Well the girl spoke up and asked us if we were gonna have a big night partying tonight. Austin in an enthusiastic answer tells her "YES!! We are having a drunken printer party! BYOI!! Bring your own ink!!" We both laughed soo hard, after she got out of the elevator. I almost peed my pants!! HAHA But, pretty soon it got to the point where he began acting like a 2 year old and we were all tired of babysitting him, so we kicked him out! Thank goodness he isn't high all the time!

Finals went well. We were all very excited for summer. And thank goodness for it, because I was pretty much done with working hard and being focused! I took a break one night from studying biology and went outside to relax and watch the beautiful sunset.

This was one of my favorites.

Well luckily it didn't snow on the day I moved out, but it did the day before! I was in a wonderful mood as I walked to my 8 a.m. Calculus final being soaked by giant clumps of wet snow. It was a wonderful day! NOT. oh well everything worked out and it was a sunny day, as we packed up the truck and I said goodbye to good ol' Morrison Hall!

Stop and smell the Lilacs!

Today was WONDERFUL!! Cari and I got up at 10:30, got ready, and went to the institute to help teach a lesson with the elders to a girl who is in my string quartet. After that, we met up with Austin, Tara, Drew, and Matt at the PUB to eat lunch. Then, Cari and I changed into our swimsuits and went to go lay in the sun! After this Longggggggggg winter, we are all very excited to be warm!! It was lovely to be outside and not wearing 8 layers to keep warm!! It was about 80 today with a slight breeze! BEAUTIFUL!!! After that, Cari went back to study chem, and I went ice skating with Austin and Tara. The REC center opened on the 8th. It has two floors for cardio and weight training, and then an ice skating rink. It also has a rock wall, and a restaurant. It has been a lot of fun to put my old skates back on! Then we headed back and I did some Calc studying, I have a test on Tues!

(CL)^2

So after the events at Cheney today, we headed to the Lilac Festival in Downtown Spokane. It isn't really a festival, just a parade. A lot of local high school marching bands and city groups perform or make a float that goes throughout downtown. Austin, Drew, Cari, Chanel (Cari's cousin), and I took the good old STA bus into town so we wouldn't have to fight traffic or pay for parking, cause we are POOR! The bus ride was uneventful, but very enjoyable here are some pics of us being bored!!

Austin being his beautiful self!

Super BORED!

Austin's girlfriend, Tara, was in the Central Valley High School Marching Band which just happened to be group 203 out of 215 groups. So we stayed the whole time! : ) I am glad we did, cause it was really fun! The weather was beautiful and there were some awesome floats!!

MotorCops!! (I have no idea where that kid's parents were,
but a volunteer had to get him out of the street!!)

A crazy float for some resort near by! It even had tango dancers on it!!

One of the high school floats (Safari theme)

You can't have an official parade without more than 6 Delorianes!

Okay so this was HILARIOUS!! There is a non-profit organization from Cour d' Alene called Red Hot Mama's!! They are these wacky women that preform dance numbers and fundraise for various things. They had a whole dance number with shopping carts and walkers!!! Not to mention flamingo and cereal box hats!

Their elaborate opening! You must enlarge to receive the full extent of their eccentricity!

Part of their dance number!

The women on the end danced with walkers!

My favorite part of the night by far was the celebrity sighting that occured!! Just imagine: I was minding my own buisness talking with Cari and I turn around and see an older man in uniform. He catches my eye, he looks fimiliar! Oh MY GOSH! I think its the weather guy on KNDU at home!!! I whisper to Cari with wide eyes. She tells me to get a picture! "Alright" i say!! So I go over! "Excuse me, are you the weather guy from the Tri-Cities?!" "I sure am!" he says with a smile! We go on and talk about why I am in Spokane, and why he is there. He used to do the weather there, and came up to be in the parade. He was sooooo nice, he even let me take a picture with him! When I went to leave he told me "I made his night!" LOL I was so excited!!

The WEATHER GUY! (Tom)

The parade was wonderful! It was great to get out of the dorms and be crazy for awhile! The bus ride home was not as enjoyable!! We sat on the bus in downtown for over 40 mins!! It took for ever to leave, but Austin entertained us!

It was a great night!! GO LILACS!! GO SUMMER~!

17 school days left!

I can't wait to be home!!

Spring Quarter so far.....

Well spring break was AWESOME, but it's back to the daily grind of school!!!!!! This quarter is going to be nice and relaxed compared to my last quarter!! Calculus, Bio, Music in Humanities, Orchestra, Private lessons, and chamber. I really like my calc teacher, he is an awesome teacher!! I am excited for my Music and Humanities class for one, it will be easy and two, it will be interesting! Here is a great picture from the $100 book!!

Well on of the first things that happened when I returned from home was my roommate moved out!!!! Cari and I are still waiting to receive the paper work that will officially allow her to move in, but she sleeps over on the weekends!

Austin's (next door neighbor) B-Day was on the 5th of April, so while he was in band, we had his roommate leave their door open!! Cari, Drew, and I decorated it and got him gag gifts along with some candy!!

The ROOM

Aus and his wonderful gifts!!

Cari and me messing around!

Aus after tasting the streamer!! It was SOOOO salty! It was weird!

It was really fun!!

Then that weekend I went home with Cari to watch General Conference with her family. It was really fun and great food!!! Conference was great too!

Well yesterday was a very hectic day!!! Cari and I have been planning and preparing for Mr. Institute (male pageant). We went shopping at walmart while we were in Moses and got things to make the winner envelopes and the flower bouquets! Cari made the Mr. Institute crown from a pink foam crown and jewels. I made the 1st and 2nd runner up crowns with silver and gold pipe cleaners! They turned out great! The night was a hit with no hitches!! We started a little late and there wasn't the biggest crowd, but everything was hilarious and the guys did a great job!! The best was the MC's!! They were hilarious!

Outside of the announcement!

The inside of the announcement!

Mr. Institute's royal crown!

Mr. Institute's extremely real bouquet!! HAHA

Aus was trying the crown on for me to make sure it was right!

Wart (from The Sword in the Stone) demonstrates how to pull a sword out of a stone (or a fake tree!)

The night went soo great!! I am so glad it is done though!! Only one more activity left to plan!! Unfortunately it is the hardest one, the fundraiser for Wishingstar. We are going to raise money for a 4 yr old boy who has a kidney disease. He wants to dig for dinosaur bones this summer in montana!!

Today was a wonderful saturday! For the first time since September, it was warm here!! Everyone was wearing shorts and hanging out in the sun!! For once, the campus didn't look dead on a weekend!! Aus, Cari, and I went to lunch and then sat in the sun for a long time before coming back to the dorm to do some homework!! Later, Cari and I went to a bridal shower for a girl in our ward!! It was great fun!!

Summer is almost upon us and I cannot wait!!!

Lovely Spring Break!!!!!!

Well I had a wonderful spring break!! Got home on March 23rd and headed back to good ol' Cheney on March 31st. The week consisted of lots of movies, hanging out with Ian and Branden, and really late nights making videos!! Due to the humiliating content in many, I am not allowed to post some videos because Ian would kill me, but I think I will be able to post at least one!! HAHA

Movies I saw:

Fool's Gold
Drillbit Taylor
Horton Hears a Who
August Rush
No Reservations
Superhero Movie

WE COOL

AHH WE CRAZY!

Branden's Big tongue!! You'll find out just how big in a little bit!

I also sewed a lot during the break!! Mended a bunch of clothes, made a skirt, and a spring dress!! It was GREAT!!

Hilarious!! It was great fun! (side note: Ian's tummy hurt, he ate A LOT of jelly beans and Mountain Dew!!)

So great to be home and see the family and friends!!

Love you!

My clean roommate!

So many of you have heard me talking about just how clean my roommate is!! Just so you know that I am not talking things up I thought I would post some pics!!!

My lovely pink side!!

Her horribly dirty side!!!

Thank heavens she is planning to move out for spring quarter and Cari plans to move in!!

We both can't wait!!
